SPRING 2025

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

For the SPRING 2025 season, we are doing something a little different. Since the games will all be 3v3 or 4v4 on small fields without keepers, there is no need for our new volunteers to fully train as referees. Your primary responsibility will be to help manage the game and help keep them SAFE, FAIR, and FUN.

No prior soccer knowledge or experience is required.

MY24 Board and Ref

AYSO members who are not related to specific teams, such as board members and referees who do not have a player in the fall season, should register to this program to complete their volunteer form, esignature and initiate their background check.

SPRING 2025 - Referee Training Requirements

1. Register as a volunteer:

Click the button above if needed OR if you volunteered during registration skip to step 2.
Please ensure each volunteer has their own account with a unique email address (youth volunteers or partners must have their own account or be added and accept an invite to the primary account)

2. Complete a background check:

Once you register as a volunteer, you will receive an automated email from Sterling Volunteers. Follow the link and complete the background check. Be sure to check your spam folder for the email. For troubleshooting, please see these instructions.
(Youth referees will skip this step)

3. Complete the 15 min AYSO Safe Haven course online:

Login to your account by clicking the "Log-in" button at the top of this page. Click the Volunteer menu on the left, and find the "AYSOU" button under your name on your Volunteer page. On our training site, click "Training Library" on the left. Under "Safe Haven Courses" click "View Courses"

Complete the Safe Haven Online Course
We also recommend that you also complete the CDC Concussion Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses

4. Attend the in-person Spring 2025 referee training course:

Attend one of these in-person training sessions:
Tuesday April 1st, 6-8 pm
Wednesday April 2nd, 6-8pm

Advanced Referee

The hybrid course consists of the following:

March 11 6-9pm PT Virtual Session (Mandatory)
March 13 6-9pm PT Virtual Session (Mandatory)
March 18 6-9pm PT Virtual Session (Mandatory)
March 20 6-9pm PT Virtual Session for Office Hours and Law Review Questions (Optional)
March 22, Fitness test, Field Session and Written Exam (Davis).
